Health Management Research Institute (HMRI), in association with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Satyam Foundation, provides health on call, for all citizens, in a unique public-private partnership
The vision of HMRI is to improve health delivery services in AP through Technology and better Management Practices and transform health delivery services by creating an easily accessible virtual platform.
The services of HMRI comprise a toll-free health information contact center—104—which is available 24X7 and assists callers with medical advice, Information, counseling and service improvement.
Other free of cost healthcare services like Tele-medicine, Tele-monitoring and Hospital Management are also offered through this easily accessible and low cost virtual platform.
In the future, HMRI will also network 200 hospitals in AP, establish a Mission Control Centre, Bloodline, create awareness about HIV and National Health Programs through wide-focus Public Education.
Health Contact Centre-104
Health Contact Centre -104 is a toll free number that provides free healthcare services.
In the initial phase, services of 104 would be available for the residents of Mehboobnagar, Srikakulam and Anantpur districts. A subsequent roll out plan envisions the inclusion of all the 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh by 26 th January 2008.
Information Directories Service: Through 104, citizens can have access to the details of hospitals in their area, medical colleges, dispensaries, diagnostic centers, pharmacies, rehabilitation centers and other health care services in Andhra Pradesh.
Counseling: Any citizen may call 104 to seek counseling on HIV, matrimonial discord, suicidal tendencies, and chronic diseases like cancer etc.
Complaint Registration: Any person facing inconvenience/having service issues related to public health service providers - may call 104 and register a complaint
At present, 104 is also a contact centre for field workers who are monitoring epidemics/outbreaks and analyzing the morbidity trends of their village. They call and give information to the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP).
